Why Should I use an Air Fryer?

The great news is cooking with an air fryer is a much healthier option than deep frying. You do not need to add any oil or cooking spray to your chicken wings and they will still come out with a crispy texture and your raw chicken wings will taste like the best chicken wings you have had. All in less than 25 minutes. There is no extra cost to you and this recipe requires minimal prep time.

Which Wings Can I Cook from Frozen in the Air Fryer?

You can use any frozen wings for this recipe and you are guaranteed delicious wings cooked right through with crispy skin that you can dip in your favourite sauce. You can also make boneless chicken wings which will only take minutes of cooking. I love cooking buffalo wings in the air fryer but for this recipe, I am using buffalo sauce.

Which Air fryer Can I use?

Any air-fryer will work for this recipe. I have used my Ninja air fryer and can vouch that it is a brilliant air fryer and always gives the best results. Cosori air fryer is also very popular and can also cook the naked wings perfectly.

How do I Cook Frozen Chicken Wings in the Air Fryer?

Easy Recipe;

Firstly take out your frozen chicken wings from the freezer. Remove all packaging and place the wings in the air fryer basket. I used 500g of chicken wings but you can use more or less.

Spread out your chicken wings in a single layer at the bottom of the air fryer. Do not overcrowd the basket or pile the wings on top of each other. You may need to cook in batches for better results.

Turn on your air fryer 400F/200C (Check the cooking time on your air fryer manual and alter it.)
Once the timer is finished you remove the fresh chicken wings and pour the water out from the bottom of the basket (melted ice) into the sink and now you can marinate your fresh wings.

Remove the melted ice from the air fryer

Dry rub your wings in a large bowl with

1 tsp paprika

1 tsp garlic powder

1 tsp onion powder

1 tsp chilli powder

Olive oil spray (optional)

Cook your wings for another 10 minutes at the same temperature 400 degrees F /200 degrees C until the chicken wings are golden brown. I choose to spray a little extra virgin olive oil. Once you have your cooked wings you can add your favorite dipping sauce.

The most popular dipping sauces are buffalo sauce, bbq sauce, ranch dressing, hot sauce or even blue cheese. Use a meat thermometer to determine when the chicken wings are cooked. It should not be a lower temperature than 165 degrees F or 74 degrees C . Once cooked drizzle with your favorite sauce.

Cooking Process

Cooking your wings will usually depend on the size of the wings and the size of your air fryer, You can use parchment paper or a baking sheet to line the air fryer. I usually use a bit of foil to prevent the wings from sticking to the bottom of the hob. This is an easy way to prevent spending time and energy later on scrubbing the air fryer basket.

What else can I make from frozen in the air fryer?

You can make all sorts of meals from frozen in the air fryer in a matter of minutes. An air fryer takes much less time than a convection oven and the final product is always a healthy meal as it avoids the use of extra added oil. This is one of the many reasons why I love my air fryer so much.

You can cook leftover chicken wings, boneless wings, buffalo chicken wings, air fryer drumsticks, chicken breasts, ribs, and lamb chops. The list really is endless. There will be no need for you to use a deep fryer again.

With this quick and easy recipe, you can have delicious air fryer chicken wings ready to serve in only 20 minutes.

The sky is the limit when it comes to using your air fryer. As well as all these great air fryer chicken recipes, you can bake cakes and muffins in these air fryer machines. I’ve even heard of people making air fryer tater tots in their air fryer. You can make an easy side of chips (again avoiding deep frying will make it healthier by avoiding all that oil which forms excess potato starch that no one needs).

By now I am sure that you can tell that I am a huge fan of cooking using air fryers. It is honestly my favorite kitchen product, even beating the instant pot and my Ninja blender. I truly believe using an air fryer is the best way to cook. It saves so much time, gas and electricity than using a normal oven and the best part is – how much healthier your food is by air frying.
