سْمِ ٱللَّٰهِ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ,
Until recently, I always thought that making jam would be a long, complicated process that would probably require hours of prep and special equipment- so you can imagine how surprised I was to learn that you can make jam by boiling 3 different ingredients in a saucepan and it tastes better than store-bought jam.
Why homemade jam?
With homemade jam, you can alter the amount of sugar you want inside it.
You don’t have to worry about additives/preservatives.
You can choose your own fruit/berries.
You can use fresh or frozen fruit, and they both taste incredible.
It doe not take long to prepare
You only need 3 ingredients.
400g of any fruit of your choice – I used blueberry and raspberries
200g of sugar- you can adjust according to your preference for sweetness. (This amount of sugar will make your jam very sweet – use less if you do not want it so sweet)
1 ripe lemon.
In a saucepan, add the juice of one lemon with your fruit of choice. Add the sugar and leave to boil on medium-high heat. Lower the heat to a simmer, often stirring, until thickened, and the mixture clings to a spoon – then you have your jam.
Pour the jam into a jam jar. You can keep it stored in the refrigerator for one month.
